Hand-made cat bags

Hand-made cat bags

Aw, what a cute kitty! Oh, wait, what? It’s a bag? A housewife in Japan creates handbags that look and feel exactly like a real cat. Only these cats have a zipper in their backs. Meet Pico, the artist behind the collection of cute felines.

Pico makes each item by hand, which makes these bags all the more awesome! First she creates a white cat from fabric and fake fur like the one in the photo above (yes, it’s really fake). After the white cat is completed (and already adorable enough for my wardrobe) she will use an air-brush to color the cat with acrylic paint. A nice detail is the fabric inside the cat, which has a feminine print on it. She creates bags that only have cat faces as well as bags that look like you’re holding a real cat under your arm.

Where to buy the hand-made cat bags?

Pico sells the cat bags on Yahoo auction, so you’ll have to keep track of her Twitter account to see when a new one will be up for sale. However, make sure you have enough money in your wallet: they are usually sold between 60,000 and 80,000 yen (roughly between 550 and 700 dollars)!

Be sure to follow @picopocoo8 on Twitter to see when a new cat bag will be up for sale.

  • Hi. We are base in singapore. We do not own any business and trying to do a small start up with what we have. We sincerely asked for the permission to speak with the founder of the cats bag. We would like to bring forward her art work into Singapore and hope we have a chance to do so.
